friday links - www.iamafoodblog.com

It’s FRIDAY! I had a super busy-yet-not-busy kind of week. I’m kind of stuck in a strange place right now and am trying to get back into the swing of things. Do you guys ever feel like shaking up your routine has a negative affect on your creativity and productivity? I’m a routine lover and change freaks me out so I’m going to spend the weekend relaxing and not thinking about anything at all. It’s going to be filled with pancakes, meat and noodles. It’s going to be good.

Webstuff:
1. These anthropomorphic snacks are too cute.
2. Are you a Taylor Swift fan?
3. Bunnies: pets or food?
4. I’m addicted to Top Chef. Can’t wait until October!

Link Love:
1. Molly’s man, Eggboy has been taking over her blog and his posts are on point. I super love these pop-tarts!
2. This hot-pink cake. Because hot-pink cake.
3. Peanut butter and jelly ice cream sandwiches. EPIC!
4. Crispy, juicy, porky goodness.
5. Grain-free matcha granola. Matcha everything, all day, every day, please!
6. I am obsessed with arepas! I lived on them during a vacation to Colombia a couple of years ago and I’ve been thinking about them ever since.
7. What they serve for breakfast in my dreams.

Just in case you missed it, here’s what I made this week: toasted coconut almond rice krispies & Vietnamese caramelized pork tacos. Also, the lovely folks over at Get the Gloss did a little interview with me.

And…it’s only a week and a bit before Easy Gourmet is released! I’m so excited I could explode!

Happy weekend friends!
xoxo Steph

PS – Those cookies in the lead were made by Lyndsay and they are the bomb!

  1. SO excited for your book to come out!! YAY! This is a great roundup (as always). Eggboy’s posts have been epic, Izy’s matcha granola blew my mind, and I’m sorry to say this but bunnies = both pets and a really delicious and delicate meat to have on ones plate.

    xoxo

Shaking up routine is always weird – though I find it worse when I have a period of quiet where I’m not at all busy, and then I find it impossible to motivate myself to do anything again!

Those PB&J ice cream sandwiches… *drool*

NO WAY! I have been obsessed with arepas recently, too! I still haven’t eaten one at a restaurant or actually made by a Columbian or Venezuelan, so I’m not totally sure if I know what they’re supposed to be just like, but I am obsessed with trying anyway :)

–Two Top Chef contestants from Portland! Represent! Oh, this is like the only time I miss having cable television….

omg I am so anxious your book won’t make it to me before I leave for vacay next week!!!!! Godspeed, UPS. Godspeed.

  5. Clare says:

I love routine. On some instances giving it a shake can be refreshing, but more often than not I feel the same way as you. Too little time and not enough achieved.
Hope you have an amazing weekend!

  6. Cannot wait till the book is released Stephanie yay!

i hear ya on feeling stuck. i think it’s so common for creatives, and for bloggers too, because we’re expected to continually churn out post after post!! let’s collaborate on something hilarious and fun in october!!!
