Friday Finds: 9.8.17

Posted September 8, 2017 by Stephanie

Fri-YAY! How is it the second Friday in September already?! I’m loving the (slightly) cooler weather and all the back-to-school feels. Call me a geek, but I love wandering the school supply section and seeing what’s new and reminiscing about those familiar old school notebooks that they still sell. I may have even boughten some new pens, because everyone needs pens, right? Anyway, I’m extra excited about this weekend because it’s my birthday! I’m kind of getting to the age where you shouldn’t make a big deal out of it, but it’s still nice to celebrate.

Mike’s planning a surprise, I’m going out on a girls night for Korean food, and I’ll have a lil family dinner too. Oh, and I’m going to try to make an entremet, which is a fancy French word for a multilayered cake with complimentary flavors and contrasting textures. Wish me luck!

In other news, this is what’s been going down on the internets.

Webstuff:

  1. Heartbreaking follow up on the 2011 Japanese tsunami and how it affected one school in particular.

I’ve got my eyes on you:

  2. Looking for a new sheet cake pan. Do you have a favorite?
  3. Also, it’s slipper season! I’m thinking of felted ones, but thinking they might be too elfish? Also don’t think I can bring myself to spend so much on slippers. But I definitely need a pair.
  4. I’m in the middle of reading this and it’s captures the agony and ecstasy of being a teenager so perfectly sweetly.

I bought a pair of Glerups for a trip to Iceland earlier this year, and it was money well spent! I absolutely love them, and would totally buy another pair in a heartbeat.
