Friday Finds: 6.1.18

Posted June 1, 2018 by Stephanie

WTF it’s JUNE!??! How the heck did June sneak up? 2018 is half over. I say this every month but, really, how the fuck is it JUNE? Okay, now that I’ve gotten that out of my system, happy June!! In other news, many things have been happening. Mundane yet amazing things that you guys (if there actually is anyone reading this) probably don’t care about, but I’m going to throw it out there into the internet universe anyway because sometimes I actually use the blog as a memory saver.

  1. Mike and I went to Bottlerock and saw Snoop Dogg and Warren G break a world record and make the most giant gin and juice (well, really it was a paradise cocktail, but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ). I thought that the Killers would be the best show we would watch all weekend, but surprisingly The Chainsmokers really brought it. I think my fave set was the dueling silent disco held by Warren G and The White Panda. I danced up a storm :)
  2. We ate at Gott’s Roadside! Whenever we’re in Napa we hit up Yountville so we always skip out on Gott’s but this time we made a point of it to visit before we headed into the festival. I’m in love with their garlic fries and onion rings. I’m pretty sure I’m going to have to make garlic fries on the blog soon.
  3. For years I’ve been convinced that I could eat 50 chicken nuggets. I love nuggets. I’ve been talking smack for so long that I pretty much convinced myself that I did it – it was in the bag. Anyway, yesterday was the day that I finally decided to try. Apparently all my friends were getting annoyed that I kept saying that I could do it. Mike and I bought 60 nuggets (that was a fun drive-through experience), came home and I ate them. Well, I ate 44.5 of them anyway. The first 20 were easy. The next 10 were doable. Then it started to be a chore. But, I ALMOST did it! Mike says it doesn’t count cause it wasn’t 50 but I’m pretty impressed/disgusted with myself LOL. I’m also never eating chicken nuggets again.
  4. We’re finally settled into our new tiny home – there are only a couple of random boxes hanging out. We’ve discovered that our new place is not the best place to have company so if you’re going to be hanging out with us, it’s gonna be out. But, aside from that, I love how livable we’ve made our home. Everything has a space and it’s so cozy and us and I want to stay in our little burrow forever.

Anyway, that’s what’s been going on! Now on to what’s been happening on the internet/in the world :)

Webstuff:

  1. I’m a basic b so I’m totally down to try this golden roasted green tea frappuccino. Too bad it’s only in Japan :(
  2. A fun piece on what’s in a food truck.
  3. I downloaded this Gudetama game before I even finished reading this article.
  4. Mac and cheese for the masses.
  5. Hokkaido has all you can eat melon buffets!! In other related news, a pair of Japanese melons sold for $29,000 USD.
  6. Electric scooter love.
  7. I haven’t tried Halo Top yet – I want to – maybe I should go to one of their scoop shops?

Link Love:

  1. This banana bread biscotti(!!) looks like it’d be perfect dipped into a matcha latte.
  2. These sour cream old fashioned doughnuts look so fluffy and perfect.
  3. This creamy chicken cavatelli pasta with zucchini and lemon sounds amazing.
  4. The CUTEST llama cookies.

I’ve got my eyes on you:

  1. This grizzly/polar bear trivet is the cutest trivet I ever did see. I’m forever needing to put hot pots down on the counter top so these look like they’d be perfect.
  2. I’m kind of digging these sandals but I’m not sure they’re too out there? Is it weird to wear fuzzy sandals in summer time?! I really like the pink ones…
  3. This banana tote would be perfect for bringing to the farmers market for when I buy bananas.
  4. I just started The Flight Attendant and I’m hooked – it’s a thriller and perfect for summer binge reading, so far!

Lately on I am a Food Blog:

  1. I made banana chocolate chip muffins and they were dangerously good.
  2. Watch me meal prep for the first time EVER!
  3. Mike made amatriciana with a secret ingredient and pissed off a bunch of Italian peeps.
  4. Ebi chili mayo because who doesn’t love deep-fried prawns with a creamy spicy sauce?

Happy weekend friends! Hope it’s a good one :)
xoxo steph
