friday finds - www.iamafoodblog.com

Last night I dreamt I was friends with Taylor Swift and we were going on a road trip. We stopped into a roadside diner and were chatting when all of a sudden she got really paranoid and asked me to turn around and see if the people behind us were taking covert pictures of her. It was so REAL that when I woke up I was disappointed when I realized that it was all a dream. HA! Sometimes I dream so hard that the dreams (at least the feelings) blend into real life. Mike always tells me, “Remember, if you get mad in a dream, it doesn’t mean it happened in real life.” Cheers to the weekend and more dreaming!

Webstuff:

1. I eat at Chipotle maybe twice a year, not because of the calories, but just because there isn’t one right next to me.
2. Cookie Monster is deep.
3. I really enjoyed this article on Airbnb hosts in Japan.
4. Eggs are BACK!!!!

Link Love:

1. Mini cakes forever, especially if they’re matcha and black sesame.
2. This macaroni and “tease” doesn’t even have cheese and I’m enthralled.
3. Cupcake torched perfection: triple chocolate, double graham s’mores.
4. I want to eat ALL the scallion biscuits and Chinese sausage gravy!!!
5. I’ll take 12 of these ham and chive mini biscuit muffins please!

I’ve got my eyes on you:

1. I’ve had my eyes on the Searzall (the ULTIMATE kitchen torch!) forever but this week I finally bit the bullet and ordered one! They’ve been sold out forever, but Alana let me know that they’re back in stock so I just had to, right?!
2. Speaking of things Alana recommends, these kitchen towels look amazing! I’m partial to the classic flour sacks, but their tea towels are really pretty too.
3. Speaking of pretty, I LOVE these soap dispensers, but they’re ridiculously expensive. I need to figure out a DIY solution, stat.
4. You know how you search on Google for something then all of a sudden all of your ads end up being the thing you searched for so it’s basically taunting you into buying? Yup, happened to me. My favorite pair of Converses is completely beat up so I’ve been searching for a replacement pair. Haven’t bitten the bullet yet, but ALL of my ads are filled with pictures of these guys, which is pretty funny. But no, really, it’s not funny Google. You scare me!

Have a lovely weekend friends!

love & potatoes,
xoxo Steph

PS – I’ve been nominated for The Munchies, which um, when you look at the other nominees (Smitten Kitchen! Serious Eats!) is kind of mind boggling. Voting begins on Monday and it’s tournament style-elimination round thing. I’m pretty sure I’m going to be the first one KO’d, but if you guys would vote for me that would be so, so sweet! :)

Girl you gotz my vote! And I know Target sells a soap dispenser that looks EXACTLY like that. And I got a Searzall but haven’t used it yet and am sooo excited.

  2. Chrissy says:

I had a dream last night that I was on some sort of Asian safari and Alan Rickman as Professor Snape was my guide. I was scared, but he provided valuable advice about navigating the river whilst avoiding the alligators. Then I woke up and my day thus far has been infinitely less exciting, but at least there are no alligators. Have a great weekend and congrats on the nod!

Also, I am SEW intrigued by the Searzall and can’t wait to read that AirBnB article. Love your link round-ups <3 CONGRATS again!! Happy Friday, dear friend!

Congrats on your nomination! Great collection of links. Glad eggs are back into the diet as I eat quite a lot of them, mostly poached eggs in the morning with a bit of smoked salmon and then scrambled with tomato for my brunch on Sunday :)

  6. Alana says:

Oh so many things. First, congrats on the nomination! You’ve got all my votes!! YAYYY for Searzalls. Can’t wait to use mine too! As for those flour sack towels, they really are the best and you’ll have to tell me what you think when you get yours in the mail (6-10 business days :) :)) And regarding Converse, they are the BESTTTTT and I feel like mine need to be replaced too and I have a feeling Google’s gonna remind me of that now. hehehe.

  7. Marissa says:
