I had a perfectly serendipitous moment on Wednesday. See, for my birthday dinner, all I wanted was a big ol’ pan of lasagna. And I wanted to make it myself because that’s the kind of thing I find fun: layering noodles, sauce, and cheese. Unfortunately an issue with the oven (it’s fixed now!) made lasagna making at home impossible so we decided to head out to a pasta place – one that focuses on fresh pasta and seasonal ingredients, not the sort of place that makes lasagna. But…after we settled ourselves into the cozy bar, I looked on the fresh sheet and saw it! LASAGNA! Of course I ordered it and it satisfied all my lasanga cravings. Needless to say, it was a good day.

Happy Birthday! And I totally get you on the whole ‘making a birthday lasagna for fun’ deal! I love doing that sort of thing too, but my whole family don’t understand it. They don’t want me to have to ‘work’ on my birthday, and I’m like guys, I love this!
