I had a perfectly serendipitous moment on Wednesday. See, for my birthday dinner, all I wanted was a big ol’ pan of lasagna. And I wanted to make it myself because that’s the kind of thing I find fun: layering noodles, sauce, and cheese. Unfortunately an issue with the oven (it’s fixed now!) made lasagna making at home impossible so we decided to head out to a pasta place – one that focuses on fresh pasta and seasonal ingredients, not the sort of place that makes lasagna. But…after we settled ourselves into the cozy bar, I looked on the fresh sheet and saw it! LASAGNA! Of course I ordered it and it satisfied all my lasanga cravings. Needless to say, it was a good day.

Webstuff:

1. I don’t care what everyone says about pumpkin spice, I still love it and can’t wait until these are on the shelves.
2. The cutest spam musubi you ever did see.
3. And perhaps the most scandalous candy you’ll ever see?
4. A billboard made of cake!
5. Are you guys fans of food festivals?
6. This was an interesting read.
7. A brand-new Snack Time video! So hipster.
8. Puppies swimming underwater. So CUTE.

Link Love:

1. Fall means apples, which means apple pie biscuits!
2. If you’re not into sweet biscuits, maybe these guys are more up your alley.
3. Science and sprinkles = pure perfection.
4. In love with these clams.
5. Would it be over the top if I turned this cinnamon loaf into cinnamon toast?
6. The most gorgeous crudités platter ever.

Some of my lovely friends have been cooking from Easy Gourmet:
Jessica made miso chicken ramen, Tracy made honey mustard fried chicken sliders, Erika made miso glazed cod and Adrianna made fish tacos!

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend!
xoxo Steph

You had me at “big ol’ pan of lasagna”. I think I was Garfield in another life, such is my love for lasagna. Tonight I’m trying one with arugula pesto mixed into the ricotta layer. Very excited :-)

    OMG THAT CAKE BILLBOARD. GENIUS!!!!!!

PS. Seeing your ramen on Jessica’s blog reminded me how badly I want to eat it!!! I’ve made a note to myself to try it with tofu larb, hopefully this weekend!!!

  4. So I spied a pic of chicken rice and had to come here snooping. Haven’t had a plate in so long! Happy Birthday, Stephanie :)

  6. The photo is making me drool Stephanie!
Also, so glad your lasagne cravings were settled!

  7. Happy Birthday! And I totally get you on the whole ‘making a birthday lasagna for fun’ deal! I love doing that sort of thing too, but my whole family don’t understand it. They don’t want me to have to ‘work’ on my birthday, and I’m like guys, I love this!

PS PLEEEEEASE make that loaf into cinnamon toast. Double cinnamon everything! And thanks for the shout out!

That photo looks delicious! Is the recipe for it available on your blog?
