I am so incredibly obsessed with Tokyo’s pastry game. It seems like everywhere I go I see something I want to eat. The cake above, Sadaharu Aoki’s Matcha Adzuki has delicious layers of matcha buttercream, dark chocolate genoise, adzuki beans, and a crispy-crunchy praline base. Seriously heaven. If I had the tummy space I’m pretty sure I’d eat my weight in pastries.
And, here’s what I’ve been checking out online!
Webstuff:
1. Um. This seems pretty extreme over $4.
2. An excellent article on cabbies in London and the infamous test you need to take to become one.
3. I’m a Reese fan.
4. Apparently “ugly” Christmas sweaters are over.
5. I CANNOT WAIT for this movie.
6. This dad is awesome.
Link Love:
1. Alana is doing 12 days of cookies and each cookie gets better and better! Gingerbear macarons!!
2. OMG. This gingerbread farm. I want to live there. But then I would literally eat myself out of house and home.
3. I love soft gingerbread cutouts.
4. Is it weird that I want to throw myself a Frozen party complete with this meringue-topped cake?!
5. At my Frozen party we’d drink homemade peppermint mochas, of course.
6. Hai Cynthia! Can I be your neighbour? I hear you give out these cookies…
Have a lovely weekend friends!
xoxo Steph
Wow, that matcha layered candy pastry thing sounds amazing…whatever it is!

Dude, that picture up top is making me feel all the feels. You know that emoji with the hearts for eyes??? That’s me right now.

omg that matcha picture is insane!!!!!!! happy friday, dear!!! thanks for the link love. you can totally come live in it :)
yay!! i hope you have extra gingerbread for snacking so we don’t eat the roof off :) xoxo
That matcha cake looks amazing! So many things to say about all the webstuff. First of all, WOAH on the $4. I don’t even know what to say!! Blown away by the London cabbies article. Funny enough, I just had an uber driver who had no idea where he was going!! I had no idea how difficult it was to become a cabbie in London but now I’m wishing the same applied to drivers in the states. I have to confess, when I read “I’m a Reese fan,” I thought you were referring to this Reese: http://goo.gl/dAIi7B. As for link love, first of all THANK YOU FOR THE LINK LOVE!! I’m over the moon to be included with Molly’s farm, those gingerbread men, and can I please be invited to your Frozen party because I definitely want a slice of that cake and a piping hot cup of peppermint mocha. Also, I want to be Cynthia’s neighbor too!! Have a lovely weekend <3 <3 <3.
oh my gosh. i think i’m even more obsessed with that REESE!!! and yes, of course you’re invited to the party!!!
Hehe! Oh my goodness, that matcha adzuki bean genoise cake … omg. Maybe we should both go to pastry school, steph! ^__^ Loving all the links – i didn’t know The Little Prince was a movie coming out! Those gingerbear macarons are mental … SO cute! And thank you for including my wild n crazy Frozen princess cake!!! We can INDEED have an adult Frozen party, haha!!! xoxo
um. i would totally suck at pastry school. but….i’ll eat everything you make if you go!!!!! xoxoxo
omg, I LOVE your link round-ups. I feel like every single week it’s either something we were just heatedly discussing (or cracking up over) or it’s something incredibly fascinating that we will be discussing as soon as I get home! As long as I read your Friday links I don’t need Internet. That HBS prof … no words. That little boy beat Legend of Zelda when he was 6 whaaaatttt?? SUPERBOY. It sends chills up my spine. Chills of greatness. (Also, B2 and I are legit nervous our kids will be sporty. What will we do. We have no idea. But the genes are stacked against them so HA.) And that Reese article — so cool. And bah! If you were my neighbor it would be a DREAM COME TRUE!
oh and!!! (1) i. love. that. cover photo!! and (2) “literally eat myself out of house and home” is TOO clever, I lol’ed <3 you are the best, Steph!
hahaha is it every parents’ nightmare? that their kid will end up nothing like them? or what if, gasp, they end up just like you?!?! cause that might be a little weird too, no? best not to think about it at all!! heehee
lolol on that $4 law professor complaint, I’d be pretty mad too actually. Hope you had a good time in Tokyo and props to having a photography studio to take all your beautiful shots while away *__*
Great Blog!!!!
Mouth watering! Love it!
